Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) reported its first quarterly profit exceeding a billion dollars in the second quarter as growing vehicle sales soared past the money-making sale of pollution credits the electric vehicle maker has relied upon to post positive results.

Yahoo Finance zings Nikola as worst company of the year

Yahoo Finance users voted Nikola Corp. (NASDAQ: NKLA) as the worst company of the year. And it wasn’t close. 

The battery-electric and fuel cell electric truck startup received five times more votes — 15% of 1,582 responses in a poll — than the second place company, which Yahoo Finance did not publicly name.

Tesla to build newest gigafactory in Texas

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) will build its newest Gigafactory near Austin, Texas, chief executive  Elon Musk announced during the company’s earnings call on Wednesday.

The 2,000-acre site will be used to build the electric vehicle company’s Cybertruck, the Tesla Semi, and the Model 3 and Model Y for the eastern half of North America.

Tesla gets tax break for proposed $1 billion factory in Austin, Texas

With a key tax break from a local school district, Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) is one step closer to building an electric pickup truck plant in Austin, Texas.

Tesla tops Toyota as world’s most valuable transportation company

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) climbed over Toyota Motor Corp. Corp. (NYSE: TM) as the world’s most valuable transportation company on Wednesday, July 1 as pre-orders for its angular Cybertruck exceeded the past two years’ deliveries of its electric vehicles.
