Other UK ports could relieve pressure on the Channel, but ‘Dover can handle it’

The UK Major Ports Group (UKMPG) has urged UK and European shippers and freight forwarders to consider using alternative home ports post-Brexit to avoid potential congestion at Dover and on the roads in its immediate hinterland.

SOL Lines takes a vertical step as it gains control of Scanlog

Gothenburg-based carrier SOL Lines has taken a majority stake in Swedish freight forwarder Scanlog, in another example of vertical integration in the supply chain.

Q3 results show a bullish DFDS defying the economic odds in Europe

Danish ro-ro and ferry operator DFDS today reported third-quarter results which show the line overcoming the economic challenges across Europe.
DFDS reported a 2% increase in revenue for the quarter, to €600m, while its pre-tax profit was up 3%, to €87m. Operating profit was flat, at €160m.

Transport secretary Grayling ‘acted illegally’ in awarding Brexit ferry contracts
