Acquisition of Supramax Bulker

Chinese bulk carrier operator Jinhui Shipping and Transportation has announced the acquisition of 2004-built 52,686 dwt supramax bulker Tai Hawk from Tai Shing Maritime, an affiliate company of Taiwan Navigation, reports splash247.

About The Vessel

The Japanese-built vessel was sold for a price of $10.8m, higher than VesselsValue’s estimate of $9.85m

The vessel is expected for delivery between June 10 and August 15 this year.

Jinhui currently owns 19 bulkers with two purchases to be delivered.

Biden’s transportation team sees ‘real prospects’ for major infrastructure plan in 2021

Despite intransigence from the Trump administration, John Porcari, a key member of President-elect Joe Biden’s transportation team, is promising a swift and smooth transition when the Biden administration takes the power levers in Washington on Jan. 20.

Porcari also said there are “real prospects” for a major investment program in federal infrastructure, perhaps as big as $2 trillion.
