Resolve Marine sells its Gibraltar towing ops to Boluda

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., headquartered Resolve Marine has announced the sale of its Gibraltar operations. Two divisions are part of the sale: the company’s harbor towing operations and fleet were sold to Valencia, Spain, headquartered Boluda Towage Europe, and the marine services business to Elias Tapiero of ORC Marine. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Moran wins 8-tug MSC contract with $92 million potential

Moran Towing Corp., New Canaan, Conn., has been awarded a $17,667,600 firm-fixed-price contract with reimbursable elements for eight time-chartered, U.S. flagged and Jones Act compliant tugs to provide harbor support services and ship handling at Norfolk, Va.

The contract includes one firm period of 366 days with three 365-day option periods, and one 336-day option period. If exercised, the options would bring the Moran Towing contract’s total cumulative value to $92,042,296.

Global towage operator Svitzer, part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk group, has unveiled a decarbonisation strategy that will see the company become fully carbon neutral by 2040.

Svitzer plans to decarbonise in two phases. Firstly, Svitzer is aiming to reduce the CO2 intensity of its entire fleet by 50% by 2030. This will pave the way for fully carbon neutral operations just ten years’ later in 2040.
