Covid Infection-Acquired Immunity Can Even Outperform Vaccines!

Credits: Afif Ramdhasuma/ Unsplash
  • Infection-acquired immunity cut the risk of hospitalization and death from a Covid reinfection by 88% for at least 10 months, the study found.
  • People who had hybrid immunity, or immunity from both infection and vaccination, were excluded.
  • The study was the largest meta-analysis to date to look at immunity following infection.

The immunity generated from an infection was found to be “at least as high, if not higher” than that provided by two doses of an mRNA...

Dr Kerry Chant, the Chief Health Officer in New South Wales, has signed an order allowing seafarers to leave a ship and “go further than 13 metres” from the vessel to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

OSHA clarifies: Solo truck drivers don’t fall under Biden vaccine mandate

The Biden administration’s proposed so-called vaccination mandate in the workplace does not apply to solo truck drivers, according to new guidance handed down by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

That formal declaration of what had been suggested at the time of the mandate’s rollout in November appeared in updated Frequently Asked Questions, published earlier this week.

“There is no specific exemption from the standard’s requirements for truck drivers,” the OSHA FAQs state.

But...

CLIA calls new CDC cruise warning “perplexing”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has raised its COVID-19 Travel Health Notice level for cruising from Level 3 to Level 4, the highest level. The CDC says this reflects increases in cases onboard cruise ships since identification of the Omicron variant and advises: Avoid cruise travel, regardless of vaccination status.

CLIA RESPONDS

CLIA, the Cruise Lines International Association, was swift to respond, releasing the following statement:

The decision by the CDC to raise the travel...

“As I See It” from the Trucking Activist – To vax or not to vax

The president has demonstrated again his complete disregard for the facts surrounding the private trucking industry. Last week’s announcement of the Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) from OSHA, compelling companies with 100 or more employees to require full vaccination, will collapse the shaky supply chain overnight. Just witness the injunctions filed and the ambiguity in the ETS that describes at work at home versus outside work. Thank you, trucking associations, for looking out for the...

Draft of vaccination rule released; trucking didn’t get an exemption

There is no exemption for trucking in the proposed federal mandate governing vaccination. The rule was “pre-published” Thursday morning by the Biden administration.

Trucking industry organizations had called for the sector to be exempted.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration published a rough draft of the rule, which will be formally unveiled Friday.

Jan. 4 is the effective date for the mandate, termed an Emergency Temporary Standard.

Under the mandate, companies with 100 or more...

Drilling Deep: Trucking begins to push back against vaccine mandate

Dave Heller is the vice president for governmental affairs at the Truckload Carriers Association. In that role, he is deeply involved in the trucking industry’s reaction to the looming vaccination mandate coming out of the Biden administration.

At the recent annual meeting of the American Trucking Associations, Heller sat down with Drilling Deep host John Kingston to talk about that battle in Washington and how it might play out.

Also on the podcast, Kingston discusses how the rising price of...
