Advisers to FMCSA waver on support for trucker overtime pay

WASHINGTON — Advocates for getting more women into trucking weakened their stance on an overtime pay exemption as they hammered out a report to be submitted to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Women In Trucking names 3 Driver of the Year finalists

The Women in Trucking Association announced finalists for the Driver of the Year award.

The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) narrowed its nominees for the 2022 Driver of the Year award to three finalists on Tuesday, International Women’s Day.

This third-annual award is sponsored by Walmart Transportation and recognizes “outstanding female professional drivers who lead the industry in safety standards while actively enhancing the public image of the trucking industry,” a release said.

Buttigieg prioritizing truck driver pay

If anything positive has come out of the supply chain crisis, U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg wants truckers to know it is a renewed appreciation for them — and that they should be compensated accordingly.
