Electrical fire destroys $3.9 million yacht

A March 26, 2021, engine room fire aboard a 100-foot, 216-gross ton yacht was likely caused by an electric source within the sound enclosure for the starboard generators, the National Transportation Safety Board says.

Lady Vanilla, a luxury yacht, caught fire on October 2nd at Ligurian Loano Marina, Italy.

The 29-meter long yacht was built in 2002 and had a capacity of 9 passengers with 4 crew members.

According to reports, electric batteries in the engine room was the cause of the fire.

The fire caused major damage and the yacht was considered a total loss.
