Ireland rejects proposal to accommodate homeless in cruise ship

Ireland rejected the proposal by Dublin to house some of the city’s homeless people on a cruise ship, in an attempt to mitigate a severe housing shortage. The Irish government rejected the proposal as ‘unsuitable’.

The city wanted to house up to 150 homeless people on a cruise ship, to get them off the streets, however this would not be ideal for homeless families, Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy noted.
