Injury while mooring: Time took higher priority over safety

Transport Malta’s MSIU issued an investigation report into a serious injury onboard the Maltese-registered product tanker ‘Santa Maria’, in November 2017. The report indicated as immediate cause of the accident the crew member’s fall in close proximity to the rotating warping drum.
