In a major development, the Lloyd’s Register has announced that they are introducing a Bunker Quanity Surveyor (BQS) serivice to assist shippers with Bunker Shortages, says a press release published on their website.
Why such a step?With 0.5% sulphur fuel usage becoming mandatory for vessels (with the exception for those equipped with scrubbers) from 1st January 2020, Lloyd’s Register BQS Service have observed a number of large discrepancy incidents and shortages in Bunker Surveys.
