DP World Sokhna, a key gateway for Egyptian trade, has indicated that it is now operating at maximum capacity to meet the country’s import requirements and to continue supporting the economy during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Currently, Sokhna port has a container throughput capacity of around 1 million teu a year. Thus will shortly be increased by a further 0.75 million TEU annually following the opening of Basin 2 in June 2020.
