Master And Chief Engineer Found Guilty Of Grounding Log-Carrier MV Funing

The Master and Chief Engineer both entered guilty pleas in the Tauranga District Court on 10 September after admitting charges relating to the grounding of the log-carrier MV Funing.
They were fined $3250.00 and ordered to pay $130.00 court costs.
The engine failure was the cause of the issue.
It was later proved that the master was aware of the issue with the main engine prior to departure and failed to notify the Pilot that there was a problem.
