Southbound general cargo ship BEAUMARE suffered engine failure and got stuck in Kiel Canal in Rendsburg area in the evening Feb 21. Canal traffic was blocked for several hours, until the ship was released and berthed nearby. Two tugs took her on tow in the morning Feb 22, and towed to Brunsbuettel. The ship is en route from Rostock to probably, Ireland. As of 1400 UTC Feb, she was still in Canal, in Brunsbuettel, in process of mooring, understood for a survey.
