Qatar Petroleum has invited a number of leading ship owners to participate in a tender for the long-term time charter of up to 100 LNG carriers. These vessels will be used to support the planned North Field expansion project as well as the Golden Pass LNG export terminal in the United States. Furthermore, the tender includes options to replace time charters for a number of Qatar’s LNG carriers that will expire in the next few years.
