Product tanker GRAND ACE 8 contacted oil terminal jetty in Chattogram, Chittagong, Bangladesh, on Sep 30, while berthing. Tanker arrived from Nalaysia and Thailand with 35,074 tons of diesel oil on board, part of which was lightered at anchorage, to allow tanker to enter the port. Dolphin Jetty-5 is owned by Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) via subsidiary Meghna Petroleum Limited, and reportedly, sustained heavy damages, amounting to Tk16 crore (some $1,9 mil, if my convert calculations...
