Container traffic growth continues at Salalah

Over the first half of 2022, the Salalah Container Terminal in Oman handled 2.24 million TEU. This was 4.6% more than was recorded in the first six months of 2021.

Meanwhile Salalah’s general cargo terminal handled 8.9 million tons in this period, a marginal increase of 1.1%. The major commodities handled were limestone, gypsum, methanol, and cement, which are exported from Salalah to nearby markets, and continue to drive the general cargo business.
