UK’s container port trials hydrogen-fuelled equipment

The first hydrogen-fuelled tractor will be used at the container terminal at the Port of Immingham in the United Kingdom.

The British port operator, Associated British Ports (ABP) is the first UK port company to test a hydrogen-fuelled tractor.

This joint pilot project received funding from ORE Catapult through Innovate UK’s Hydrogen Innovation Initiative (HII), following the funding of initial feasibility from the Department for Transport’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition.
