Container ship SHILING in trouble again, still in New Zealand waters – the ship issued distress signal at 0827 LT (UTC +12) May 12, reporting loss of power and steering. SHILING was disabled and started to drift in NE direction, in rough weather conditions, so at one time Master of the ship even mentioned 24 crew readying to abandon the ship. As of 1600 LT situation stabilized, crew and ship safe, offshore tug SKANDI EMERALD (IMO 9447639) is already near SHILING, preparing to take her on tow.
