New cranes arrive in Salalah port

As part of an ongoing US$ 300 million container terminal upgrade and expansion project, the Port of Salalah recently received the first four of ten new ZPMC ship-to-shore cranes that it has ordered in China.

The four new fully-electric cranes, which are due to be operational this March, are amongst the largest of their kind in the world and have a 75 m outreach, enabling them to handle vessels with containers stacked 26 deep on deck. A lifting height of 58 m above the rail, and a 77 m total...
