Greek Coast Guard Seizes $1.10 Million Cocaine Hidden In Banana Container At Piraeus Port

The Greek Coast Guard has seized cocaine worth over 1 million euros ($1.10 million) in a shipment of bananas.

The drugs, totalling 35 kilograms (77 pounds), were found in 30 packages hidden in the cooling system of a sea container at Piraeus port on August 05, 2024.

The seizure was carried out with assistance from the Homeland Security Investigations unit of the U.S. embassy in Athens.
