The Sounion, a Greek-flagged oil tanker, is on fire and adrift in the Red Sea after being targeted by a series of attacks.

The vessel carrying crude oil from Basra, Iraq, to Cyprus was hit by gunfire from two small boats on August 21, 2024, about 140 kilometres west of the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah.
