Yemen’s Houthis have claimed responsibility for recent attacks on commercial vessels near Yemen’s Red Sea port of Hodeidah, reports Safety4sea.
Houthi attacksOn 2 October, a Panama-flagged tanker was damaged approximately 64 nautical miles northwest of Hodeidah. The vessel, which was in ballast condition, sustained damage to its port side but reported that its crew was safe. Prior to the impact, the crew had observed splashes in the water nearby, suggesting attempted missile strikes.
