RAK Ports in Ras al Khaimah has in recent weeks launched its new Saqr 2.0 deep water port development project, which will focus on the liquid bulk, project cargo and break bulk segments, while also developing facilities for shiprepair and recycling.
The aim is to have the first phase of the new port operational by 2027, providing direct access not only to waterside berths but to around 5million m2 of free zone space.
