ABX pilots win back Amazon business with power of positivity

A new transportation services agreement to operate 10 Boeing 767 cargo jets for Amazon paved the way for pilots at cargo airline ABX Air over the weekend to ratify an extension of their labor contract until 2030, company officials said Tuesday.

Amazon’s assignment of planes to ABX Air was also made possible by union leaders’ more collaborative approach to jointly growing business after a history of tensions and a shortage of captains at sister airline Air Transport International, they said.

ABX Air pilots choose cooperation over confrontation

Amazon investment strengthens partnership with cargo airline ATSG

Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) has taken a minority stake in cargo airline Air Transport Services Group (NASDAQ: ATSG), strengthening a strategic partnership in its fast-growing private air network that supports e-commerce fulfillment.

ATSG said in an SEC filing Monday that Amazon for the first time exercised warrants it held, paying $131 million to take a 19.5% share in the Wilmington, Ohio-based aircraft leasing and aviation services company.

Amazon partner ABX Air reaches labor peace with pilots

Pilots at ABX Air, which flies express cargo routes for Amazon Air and DHL Express, have ratified a new six-year contract.

Parent company Air Transport Services Group (NASDQ: ATSG) announced Wednesday that the airline division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters had finalized the collective bargaining agreement.

E-commerce, pandemic charters boost ATSG’s Q2 revenues

Air Transport Services Group’s (NASDAQ: ATSG) adjusted pre-tax earnings increased 20% in the second quarter to $125.6 million, beating analyst estimates of $113 million, on the strength of expanded aircraft leasing and flying commitments related to e-commerce.
