Seafarer Survives Four Days At Sea With Fractured Spine After Fall

A Filipino seafarer is recovering in hospital after fracturing his spine falling from a ladder on 14 November. Adriano Gicos, 55, was descending into the ship’s hold when he slipped and fell four metres while travelling from Singapore to Brazil. Colleagues who witnessed the accident had to use a crane to get him back to his cabin, where they administered basic first aid.

Howrah-Amta railway traffic disrupted

The railway traffic on Howrah-Amta section was yesterday disrupted after a fuel laden tanker and a container-drawn-truck involved in head-on-collision on Kona Expressway resulting instant death of the two drivers and blocked the busy highway affecting vehicular traffic between Kolkata and districts.

At least 12 people were killed and eight others injured Sunday (Nov. 04) after a container truck rammed into a car and two two-wheelers in northern Indian state of Haryana, police said.
