AET orders the world’s first two ammonia fueled Aframax tankers

AET, the tanker operation of Malaysia’s MISC Group, has signed a shipbuilding contract with China’s Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd (DSIC) for what will be the world’s first two ammonia fueled Aframax tankers. In parallel, MISC signed time charter contracts for the two vessels with Petronas subsidiary PETCO Trading Labuan Company Ltd (PTLCL).

WinGD and AET ink deal to collaborate on ammonia engines and training projects

WinGD, a Swiss marine power firm, has entered into a partnership agreement with AET, a ship owner and operator, and Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM), both members of the MISC Group, to develop technology and training for ammonia engines.

The agreement calls for the partners to collaborate on the future installation of X-DF-A ammonia-fuelled engines aboard vessels that would be among the world’s first ammonia dual-fuelled tankers.
