Marcon releases new offshore support vessel report

Nothing is a better indicator of what’s going on in a given sector than what’s happening in the sale and purchase (S&P) market and Coupeville, Wash., shipbroker Marcon International has just released its latest report on the offshore support vessel market.

Marcon says that of the 13,293 vessels and 3,749 barges it trackedm as of mid-September 2023, 2,933 are supply and tug supply boats, with 207 officially on the market for sale. The brokerage notes that, 50.00% of foreign and 67.01% of U.S....

DOF books long term Brazil contracts

Norway’s DOF Group reports that Petrobras has awarded new long-term charter and service contracts to Norskan Offshore Ltd and DOF Subsea Serviços Brasil Ltda for AHTS vessels and ROVs.

The AHTS 18000 class vessels Skandi Angra, Skandi Paraty, Skandi Urca and Skandi Fluminense, currently operating for Petrobras and equipped with DOF Subsea’s work class ROVs, have been contracted for three years firm + two-years options with Petrobras.

The contracts are planned to commence in fourth quarter 2022...

Shallow-draft Caspian Sea AHTS duo will feature Schottel propulsion

Spay, Germany, headquartered propulsion specialist Schottel is to supply a total of eight propulsion units to Turkey’s Atlas Shipyard. They will be installed in two Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, ordered by affiliates of Russia’s Ark Shipping and Adamant Cargo.
