Alliance Ground International, a large provider of airport services to airlines in the U.S., has acquired MIC Cargo to increase its cargo handling capability at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, the company announced Wednesday. MIC’s flagship account is Emirates SkyCargo.

American Airlines doubles down on cargo-only flights

American Airlines (NASDAQ: AAL) in September will offer more than 1,000 cargo-only flights using passenger aircraft, double the number of dedicated cargo flights flown during August, in response to a transport supply shortage as the traditional peak shipping season gets underway.

Cargo-only operations will serve 32 cities and be supplemented by 1,200 passenger flights offering cargo space, the company said Monday. It does not currently plan to open up more floor space for cargo by removing seats.

Kuehne + Nagel uses ‘agile structure’ to weather 1H 2020

Global freight forwarder Kuehne + Nagel Group (OTCMKTS: KHNGY) used its “agile structure, rigorous cost management and high-quality service offerings” to counter potentially devastating financial impacts from the coronavirus pandemic during the first half of the year, said CEO Detlef Trefzger in a statement on Tuesday.
