AIT Worldwide buys customs broker Multimodal International

Global logistics company AIT Worldwide Logistics said Thursday that it has acquired Multimodal International Ltd., a customs broker that focuses on the processing and clearance of industrial commodities. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Second-quarter truckload volumes resemble peak Fourth of July demand

It’s only two weeks into the second quarter, and the volume demands within the North American truckload market resemble the peak demands of July Fourth. Freight forwarder AIT Worldwide makes equity partner move

Global freight forwarder AIT Worldwide Logistics announced an agreement Wednesday to recapitalize with The Jordan Company (TJC), a middle-market financial firm with a background in transportation and logistics investments like Capstone Logistics and GlobalTranz Enterprises. 

AIT Worldwide will conclude its current equity partnership with Quad-C Management, which will sell its full stake to TJC at the end of March. The recapitalization is said to be valued at over $1.2 billion.
