New project looks at renewables for subsea power

Mocean Energy collaborates with Chrysaor, subsea energy storage company EC-OG and AUV firm Modus in a project to look at using renewables for subsea power. The project, funded by the partners together with the Oil and Gas Technology Centre (OGTC), will look to use Mocean Energy’s Blue Star wave energy converter and EC-OG’s HALO subsea energy storage system to power subsea tiebacks or residential AUVs.

France increases 2028 offshore wind tendering target

Namely, the latest version of the Multiannual Energy Programme (Programmation pluriannuelle de l’énergie (PPE)) indicates that France has increased its offshore wind tendering target from 6GW to up to 8.75GW by 2028.

The revised PPE increases the intended operating offshore wind capacity from between 4.7GW and 5.2GW by 2028, to between 5.2GW and 6.2GW by 2028.
