Seventh incident against ship in Singapore Strait for 2020

In its weekly report for 11-18 February, ReCAAP ISC informed of two incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia: one at an Indian anchorage and another one off Indonesia, in the Singapore Strait. 11 armed robberies against ships in Asia in January

A total of 11 incidents of armed robbery against ships were reported in Asia in January 2020, ReCAAP ISC said in its monthly report. The number of actual incidents is the same with December 2019. The two alarming issues concern the recurrence of four incidents in the Singapore Strait and one crew abduction off Malaysia in January 2020.

In its weekly report for 15-21 October, the ReCAAP ISC informed of three actual incidents of armed robbery against ship in Asia. One was a CAT 3 incident in Indonesia and two were CAT 4 incidents, one in Malaysia and one in the Singapore Strait.
