Australian Navy seizes drugs in the Middle East

Royal Australian Navy frigate HMAS Ballarat has seized over 900 kilos of heroin worth approximately $279 million during two boarding operations that occurred in 21-23 December 18 as part of Operation MANITOU.

Ballarat performed flag verification checks by boarding vessels of interest in the Arabian Sea. The fishing vessels, known as dhows, were believed to be engaging in illegal activity.

Shell launches the world’s largest FLNG facility in Australia

Shell announced, on December 25, that the wells have been opened at its Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility located 475km north-north east of Broome in Western Australia.

Maersk issues a correction for Australian Terminal Handling Charges, published in Weekly Highlights newsletter Week 51. Please be advised that there is no change to Sydney OHC/DHC, and the Danish shipping giant wishes to confirm that the Sydney THC remains as per company’s announcement on 10th July 2018.  The change is for Adelaide, SA.

Australia: Draft report on live sheep Heat Stress Risk Assessment released

The Australian Department of Agriculture & Water Resources has issued its draft report on heat stress risk in live sheep exports to the Middle East.
