Azul Airlines boosts cargo capability with first A321 freighter

Brazilian airline Azul has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321 converted freighter. The design for modifying used passenger jets to carry cargo containers was approved by the country’s National Civil Aviation Agency (NCAA), the Airbus affiliate that rebuilt the aircraft announced Thursday.

Azul introduces 1st Embraer 195 cabin freighter

Brazilian airline Azul has introduced the first cabin freighter for an Embraer 195 aircraft following a reconfiguration that involved removing the seats. 

The ability to use the main deck and lower hold more than doubles the aircraft’s cargo capacity to 16.5 tons, improving efficiency and reducing carbon emissions because fewer flights will be required to move orders.

South Korea’s Asiana Airlines is the first airline to modify an A350 twin-aisle plane with a mini-pallet system developed by Airbus (CXE: AIR) to increase the efficiency of cabin loading amid a supply shortage for cargo airlift.
