The shortfall in Highway Trust Fund revenues caused by electric cars and trucks can be eliminated through an electricity tax that has the potential to achieve the same collection efficiency as the federal fuel tax, according to a new study.

Battery Resourcers raises $20M for sustainable battery ecosystem

The lithium-ion battery recycling and manufacturing company Battery Resourcers announced this week it has completed a $20 million Series B investment round led by Orbia Ventures with participation from At One Ventures, TDK Ventures, TRUMPF Venture, Doral Energy-Tech Ventures and Jaguar Land Rover’s InMotion Ventures. Arrival sets second US microfactory as public trading nears

U.K. electric delivery van and bus startup Arrival Ltd. will build its second U.S. microfactory in Charlotte, North Carolina, the site of its U.S. headquarters. The SPAC-backed startup begins public trading Thursday.

The new microfactory will make vans to help fulfill a 10,000-unit order from United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS). Many of the vehicles produced at the Charlotte microfactory are expected to enter UPS’ North American and European fleets.

Tesla unveils battery cells aimed at raising electric cars’ range and power

Tesla on Tuesday unveiled new battery cells that will add energy, range and power to the company’s electric vehicles.
