South African Seafarer Reported Missing In The Caribbean
The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) has confirmed an incident of the sinking of an offshore Luxembourg registered tug 1200 nautical miles off Martinique Island on which a South African seafarer was reportedly on-board.
The sinking took place 60 nautical miles South-South East from the eye of a Category 4 hurricane storm named Lorenzo.

Update On Search Operations For Bourbon Rhode Crew; Three Survivors Return
The three survivors of Bourbon Rhode’s crew arrived on October 6, in Fort de France onboard the French Navy frigate “Ventôse”. They were welcomed by civil and military authorities, and by BOURBON representatives. The three seafarers, in good health, have been taken care of by the health structures and have already been reunited with their families.
The bodies of the seafarers who died during the sinking were taken care of by the funeral services and will be repatriated to their families.
