Panama tightens oversight on oil transfer operations

In a move aligned with the standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Panama has strengthened its requirements for ship-to-ship (STS) oil transfer operations involving tankers registered under its flag. Is This a Good Time to Start Financing Panamax Bulkers?

Rebecca Galanopoulos

VesselsValue’s Timeseries product can be used to assess when may be a good time to start financing a specific vessel type. In this instance, we’ve taken a look at the Panamax sector and have compared newbuilding orders with demolition levels alongside trends in values.

Values for Panamaxes have moved lower across most sub sectors and age ranges from the same period last year. Values for older 15 YO vessels of 80,000 DWT have seen the biggest drop, down by c.18.14%...

Death of Diplomacy – part 4

Further to our last back on the 8th of April , we are now entering the dire straits…

Here we go:

Alongside the Death of Diplomacy – and to an extent, of elements of Democracy – has come the birth of, let us call it, drone-ocracy. Stealthily-launched drones are a deadly nightmare in the great and small theatres of war, making a mockery of supposed ceasefires. Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan and now Kashmir are among victim-territories of this ghastly modern form of weaponry, often supporting substantial...
