Container-ship owners in crossfire as liners slash service

Container-ship lessors represent one of the most crowded segments in the U.S.-listed shipping arena – and one of the most highly leveraged to COVID-19.

Such owners, known as “tonnage providers,” lease vessels for varying lengths of time to liner companies, which use chartered ships to complement their owned fleets. 

If global consumer demand rebounds robustly, stocks of tonnage providers should surge. If there’s an extended downturn, they face years of pain.

Μαρινάκης: Κέρδη $6,7 εκατ. για την Capital Product Partners

Καθαρά έσοδα 6,7 εκατομμυρίων δολαρίων παρουσίασε το α’ τρίμηνο του 2020 η εισηγμένη στην αμερικανική χρηματαγορά NADAQ Capital Product Partners L.P. συμφερόντων Βαγέλλη Μαρινάκη.

Τα έσοδα ανήλθαν στα 33,7 εκατ. και τα λειτουργικά έξοδα 22,5 εκατ.

Το χρονικό αυτό διάστημα η εταιρεία αγόρασε τρία πλοία μεταφοράς εμπορευματοκιβωτίων, μεταφορικής ικανότητας 10.000 teus το καθένα. Τα πλοία βρίσκονται σε μακροχρόνια ναύλωση στην Hapag-Lloyd for και θα αποφέρουν συνολικά  162,6 εκατομμύρια δολάρια.

Μαρινάκης: Η Capital Product Partners δίνει μέρισμα 0,35 δολ.

Η εισηγμένη στο NASDAQ Capital Product Partners L.P. συμφερόντων του πλοιοκτήτη Ευάγγελου Μαρινάκη ανακοίνωσε ότι θα διανείμει μέρισμα 0,35 του δολαρίου ανά μετοχή στους μετόχους της για το α΄ τρίμηνο του 2020. Η καταβολή των χρημάτων θα γίνει στις 15 Μαΐου 2020.

Η Capital Product Partners L.P. έχει στόλο με ποντοπόρο πλοία και πιο συγκεκριμένα 13 πλοία μεταφοράς εμπορευματοκιβωτίων και ένα φορτηγό πλοία capesize χωρητικότητας 180.000 τόνων.

IMO 2020 boosts demand for post-Panamax container vessels

High demand for post-Panamax container ships has resulted in a string of sales since the start of 2020, a trend aided by the new fuel rules.

Capital Product Partners $162.6 million Deal

According to a recent Ship Technology article, Greek shipping firm Capital Product Partners (CPP) has acquired three container vessels from Capital Maritime & Trading in a $162.6m deal.

The three 10,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) sister container vessels are called M/V Athos, M/V Aristomenis and M/V Athenian.
