Port of Antwerp ready to make another record throughput

Throughput continues to grow in the Port of Antwerp, as the total throughput after nine months is 177,026,550 tonnes, a 6% increase compared with the same period last year. With these results, the port is on track for the sixth consecutive record year.

Container traffic grew by 7.1%, while in terms of TEUs, throughput increased by 6.8%.

Port of Oakland sets new record for peak season cargo volume

Port of Oakland reported a record-breaking peak season. Last month was the busiest September for import cargo in the port’s history, which followed another all-time record in August.

The Port of Oakland handled 168,289 TEUs loaded import containers in the past two months. That surpassed the previous August-September record of 158,320 20-foot loaded import containers set back in 2006.

One more month of import growth could give Oakland its busiest peak season in Port history.

Port of Rotterdam welcomes initiatives to increase container bundling

Port of Rotterdam Authority welcomed initiatives from companies including BCTN, Kramer and Waalhaven Group for more efficient transportation of containers between the Port of Rotterdam deepsea terminals and the hinterland.

JAXPORT set record in container volumes during August

The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) achieved its highest monthly container volumes in August, moving nearly 115,700 TEUs. The previous JAXPORT monthly container record of 115,300 TEUs was set in December 2017.

JAXPORT’s container volumes increased 20% year–to–date in fiscal year 2018. Considering the volumes moving through private terminals, Jacksonville’s port will exceed last year’s record-setting 1.3 million TEUs.

Port of Savannah plans 8 million TEU capacity by 2028

The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) revealed its 10-year, which will cost $2.5 billion, to expand the capacity of Savannah’s Port container terminal from 5.5 million twenty-foot equivalent unit containers (TEUs) to 8 million.
