Cargotec’s Board of Directors has appointed Sami Niiranen as the company’s next President of Kalmar, effective May 2024 at the latest, with Cargotec’s present President and CEO Casimir Lindholm remaining in his interim position.

Cargotec receives orders totalling US$963 million in 2023 Q3

Cargotec received orders of US$963 million in the third quarter, which was influenced by delayed client decision-making. In Q3, sales climbed by 6% and totalled US$1.16 million.

Furthermore, at the end of the period, the order book was US$3.23 million. The operating profit was US$147 million, representing 12.7% of sales. The operating profit includes US$9.5 million in items influencing comparability. Comparable operating profit climbed by 48% to US$138 million, accounting for 12% of sales.

MacGregor receives multi-million order for general cargo cranes

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, has received a significant, more than €25 million (almost US$27 million) order for general cargo cranes for ten 84,500 dwt multipurpose vessels built in Asia.

According to MacGregor, the order was booked into Cargotec’s 2023 third quarter orders received, while the equipment is expected to be delivered between the fourth quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2026.

MacGregor receives order for RoRo equipment for Sallaum Lines vessels

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, received a large order for comprehensive packages of RoRo equipment for a total of two dual-fuel LNG Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessels.

DP World enhances Antwerp Gateway with new container equipment

Casimir Lindholm has been appointed by Cargotec’s board of directors as the company’s next president and CEO, effective from 1 April, replacing current president and CEO Mika Vehviläinen.

Lindholm has held CEO roles at Eltel and Lemminkäinen, as well as other board positions. Kalmar, Holmen Iggesund extend cooperation agreement for three years

A three-year collaboration deal that was first signed in 2019 between Holmen Iggesund, a member of the Holmen Group, and Kalmar has been extended.

The extension will commence in the second quarter of 2023 and will last a further three years with an optional 12-month extension.
