Uwe Kleinwort orders new Kalmar equipment

Cargotec’s Kalmar has concluded an agreement with Uwe Kleinwort GmbH to supply six Kalmar Gloria reachstackers with a lifting capacity of 45 tons.

The order was booked in Cargotec’s Q4 2022 order intake, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.

Located in the Port of Hamburg in northern Germany, Uwe Kleinwort GmbH has an extensive rental equipment fleet including Kalmar reachstackers, terminal tractors, forklift trucks and empty container handlers.

South Florida Container Terminal orders 12 electric gantry cranes

South Florida Container Terminal (SFCT) at PortMiami has ordered 12 electric, emission-free, rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes to prepare for cargo growth and larger vessels — and to help meet decarbonization goals.

The RTG cranes are being purchased from Kalmar, which is part of Finland-headquartered Cargotec. SFCT did not provide the cost of the cranes but did say delivery is expected in the second quarter of 2023.

Kalmar secures new order for straddle carriers from Tropical Shipping

Kalmar has inked an agreement to provide international cargo and logistics operator Tropical Shipping with three Kalmar diesel-electric straddle carriers.

The order was booked in 2022 third quarter order intake of Cargotec, the mother company of Kalmar, while the delivery of the equipment is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2023.

Cargotec reports strong results in 2022 first half

Cargotec has announced its financial results for the first half of 2022, while the company has achieved a record second quarter.

“The second quarter was successful for Cargotec. Our personnel did an excellent job in a challenging operating environment, making our good performance possible. Our orders received, order book and comparable operating profit reached all-time records. Kalmar approves move of heavy cranes related IP to RIC in China

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and Rainbow Industries Co. (RIC) have entered into an agreement, according to which, the Finnish port manufacturer will transfer heavy cranes’ related intellectual properties and assets to RIC in China.

The deal would concern Kalmar rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTG), rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMG), ship-to-shore cranes (STS) as well as automatic stacking cranes (ASC) which are currently assembled and manufactured at RIC’s facility in Taicang, China.

Kalmar to invest over US$21 million in Ottawa plant expansion

Kalmar is aiming to upgrade and expand its manufacturing plant in Ottawa, Kansas, US home to the company’s terminal tractor manufacturing operations in North America.

Chile’s terminal selects Kalmar process automation solutions

An order was given to Kalmar, a Finnish company that provides cargo handling solutions and services to ports, terminals, distribution centers and heavy industry and is part of Cargotec, for its Kalmar SmartPort process automation solutions.

French box terminal operator orders more straddle carriers from Kalmar

The French terminal operator Terminaux de Normandie has made a repeat order of 12 diesel-electric straddle carriers to Kalmar.

The new equipment is expected to enhance operations of Terminal Normandie MSC & Terminal Porte Océane located at the Port of Le Havre.
