MCIB investigation: Capsizing leads to fatality on River Suir

Ireland’s Marine Casualty Investigation Board (MCIB) issued an investigation report on the fatality of a trainee kayak instructor during kayaking on the River Suir in November 2017. The report mentions that while the other kayakers saw their colleague capsize, they did not attempt going over the weir and assumed that he would exit the water safely.

USCG saves four injured after collision near Wildwood, N.J

The US Coast Guard responded to a boat collision that resulted to four injured passengers aboard two vessels on Sunset Lake near Wildwood, Monday, July 15. The injured passengers were transmitted to Schooner Island Marina where local EMS were standing by to provide assistance.

Specifically, Coast Guard watchstanders from Delaware Bay received the distress call of the accident from a good Samaritan vessel at around 8:30 p.m.

Two rescued from sinking vessel off UK

Two men have been safely rescued after their fishing vessel caught fire off the coast of Land’s End, on 16 July. Falmouth Coastguard received multiple 999 calls reporting a vessel on fire, in the early afternoon hours of Tuesday.

Penlee and Sennen Cove RNLI lifeboats and HM Coastguard’s search and rescue helicopter from Newquay were sent to the scene.
