Sri Lanka Navy saves vessel from hitting Bonavista coral reef

According to the Sri Lanka Navy, a vessel was in distress due to rough weather conditions. General Manager of the Marine Environment Protection Authority Dr. P.B. Turney Pradeep Kumarsa informed that the vessel was washed up ashore.

Specifically, Navy Media Spokesperson Lt. Commander Isuru Sooriyabandara reported that the ship was washed ashore in Rumassala, Galle, and was in close proximity to the Bonavista Coral reefs.

Philippine crewmembers loses life in accident at Port of Savona

On July 18, a Philippine crewmember died, after falling from 60 feet into an empty hold on board the bulker Ilektra, at Port of Savona, Italy. When the incident happened, the victim was conducting maintenance works above the hold, local authorities inform, and as a result he was killed instantly.

Two crew members killed on bulk carrier off Brazil

Two crew members were killed and another two were injured during tank cleaning onboard the Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier ‘AP Dubrava’ in the afternoon hours of Wednesday.

At the time of the incident, the ship, owned by the Croatian shipping firm Atlantska Plovidba (AP), was sailing about 150 nm offshore Brazil.
