Caterpillar introduces the Cat C32B marine engine

Caterpillar Marine announced the launch of the new Cat C32B high performance 2,000 hp (2,025 mhp) marine engine with a rated engine speed of 2,300 rpm.

This engine meets emerging market demands and expands the power capability of the C32 high performance product line, delivering a 5% power increase over existing C32 ratings, Caterpillar officials said.

Cat and Sanmar to present latest hybrid concept at Tugnology ‘19

Turkey’s leading tug builder and internationally respected innovator Sanmar Shipyards has been selected by Caterpillar Marine to build the first tug to incorporate its hydraulic hybrid propulsion system.

Construction is currently under way with delivery scheduled for October this year. The two companies will join together to present their collaborative efforts to tugboat professionals at the Tugnology ’19 Conference and Exhibition to be held in Liverpool, England, May 14-15.
