Comcar bankruptcy liquidation plan approved

A federal judge approved plans to liquidate what little assets remain of bankrupt trucking company Comcar Industries: ostensibly real estate.

The Chapter 11 liquidation plan received approval on Wednesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The remaining assets will be sold through two trusts, with an expected recovery of $23.4 million, according to court filings

Payouts to Celadon’s Hyndman drivers vindicate legal battle

Truck driver Robert Mitchell, 69, didn’t think he’d get any of the pay he was owed after Celadon Group shut down Hyndman Transport in December. But in May, about C$6,800 (US$5,000) appeared in his bank account — one of hundreds of payouts likely to go out to former employees of the bankrupt U.S. trucking company’s Canadian subsidiary.

Third-party logistics provider pays $152,000 to recover Celadon trucks ‘quarantined’ in Mexico

A Chattanooga, Tennessee-based company had to pay more than $150,000 to retrieve five Celadon trucks “quarantined” in Mexico back in December, according to recently released court documents.

The court filings are part of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware hearings for trucking company Celadon Group, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Dec. 9.
