Chipolbrok orders two new multipurpose vessels

Chinese/Polish transport company Chipolbrok aims to enhance its ship fleet with two new multipurpose vessels.

Chipolbrok has sent an order to China’s Chengxi Shipyard, which will construct the two ships with a capacity of 61,600 dwt, including 800 TEU container capacity, a draught of 13.5 metres, and four cranes separated into 2x 80 tons and 2x 150 tons (combinable).

Odfjell recoats tanks in three tankers with MarineLINE

Avon, Ohio, headquartered specialty coatings manufacturer Advanced Polymer Coatings (APC) has signed a deal with Norway’s Odfjell Tankers to recoat tanks in three of its chemical tankers.

The work will see APC replacing the tanks’ zinc coating with its MarineLINE protective tank coating, with the recoating work set to get underway at the Chengxi Shipyard Co. Ltd in Jiangyin city, Jiangsu province, China in March 2024 and continue until July.

Canada’s first diesel-electric laker starts maiden voyage

Canada Steamship Lines (CSL) reports that following its delivery by Chengxi Shipyard, its new purpose-designed self-unloader, M/V Nukumi sailed from Jiangyin, China, yesterday on its delivery voyage to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
