China’s export container shipping index drops

China’s container transport for export purposes continued to contract last month due to weak demand during low seasons, according to a report released by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.

The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) came in at 799.65 in April, down 3.8 percent from the previous month.

The pace eased from the 6.3-percent decrease registered in March, the exchange said.

In the first four months of 2019, the index averaged 839.88, picking up from an average of 817.8 for 2018.

China’s export box shipping index edges up

China’s container transport for export purposes increased for the week ending Friday (April 26), according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.

The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) stood at 802.27, up 0.1 percent from a week earlier, the exchange said.

The sub-index for South America service rallied by 2.8 percent to 574.54 week on week, while that for Europe service declined 0.9 percent to 945.67.

China’s export box shipping index picks up

China’s container transport for export purposes increased for the week ending Friday, April 12, according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.

The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) stood at 799.79, up 0.3 percent from a week earlier, the exchange said.

The sub-index for South America service saw the strongest rally of 6 percent week on week, while that for the Europe service declined 3.3 percent.

China’s export container shipping index climbs

China’s container transport for export purposes picked up steam in February despite dipping demand on some routes, according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange.

The average China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) climbed to 886.56 in February, up 3.5 percent from a month earlier, the exchange said.

The index averaged 869.34 in the first two months of the year, sharply up from an average of 817.8 for 2018.
