Deltamarin awarded design contract for new Airbus ships

Turku, Finland, headquartered Deltamarin has been selected to design the three wind assisted RO/RO vessels that France’s Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) will operate under a charter from Airbus. The aircraft manufacturer is looking to cut the carbon emissions of its fleet of vessels used to transport aircraft subassemblies between Saint-Nazaire, France, and its single-aisle aircraft final assembly line in Mobile, Ala., and the new Airbus ships promise big carbon savings.

PSA seeks bidders for its CK Hutchison stake; China giants among potential buyers

Chinese state-owned giants, China Cosco Shipping Corp. and China Merchants Group, seem to be interested in acquiring PSA International Pte’s minority stake in Hong Kong’s CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd.

According to a Bloomberg report, PSA is seeking approximately US$4 billion for its 20% share of CK Hutchison’s ports assets, while the company is reported to have already begun early discussions with potential investors.

Chinese partners launch new China – Laos rail service

The Chinese companies Sinotrans, Shenzhen International and the unified operation platform China Merchants Group’s logistics business, have jointly launched the ‘Bay Area’ China-Laos Railway train, connecting the Chinese Port of Shenzhen with the capital of Laos, Vientiane.
