Chinese Ports’ container volumes rise 7.6% up to November

The container throughput of Chinese ports for the period between January and November of 2021 stood at 259.7 million TEU, which translates to an increase of 7.6%, compared to the same period of the previous year.

Ports in China see significant growth in box volumes during 2021

China ports have registered noteworthy increases in container volumes during the period between January and September.

The container throughput of China ports has reached 211 million TEU, representing a significant growth of 9.5% compared to the first nine months of the previous year.

During the same period, the cargo volume of China ports completed 11,548.4 million tons in total, which translates to a year-on-year increase of 8.9%

China’s ports see handling capacity rise in August

Total handling capacity of China’s ports saw year-on-year increases both in August and the first eight months of 2019, official data showed.

China’s ports in August handled 1.199 billion tonnes of cargoes, up 6.4 percent from last year, among which 379 million tonnes were foreign trade cargoes, according to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

In the January-August period, total handling capacity was up 5.1 percent year on year to reach 9.096 billion tonnes.

China’s container throughput grows in Jan

China’s cargo throughput at ports grew by 9.1 percent to around 1.14 billion tonnes in January compared with the same period last year, official data showed.

At the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) expanded the statistical range from major ports to all ports across the country.

Container throughput at ports enjoyed a 7.8-percent rise to 22.16 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEU), the report said.
