Seaspan orders six new container vessels from Chinese shipyard

Seaspan Corporation has placed an order for six eco-friendly container ships with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, part of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).

China State Shipbuilding Corporation unveils world’s first 27,500 TEU container ship

China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) debuted the world’s largest container ship at the SMM Hamburg Maritime Exhibition, unveiling GREEN SEALION 27500 with a box capacity of 27,500 TEUs.

Minsheng books 16,000TEU pair at DSIC

Minsheng Financial Leasing (MSFL) has ordered a pair of 16,000TEU container ships from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC), the latter’s parent China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) announced on 7 May.

While MSFL, the leasing unit of China Minsheng Bank, would only state that the ships will be bareboat-chartered to a European liner operator, CSSC said that the vessels are sister units of an earlier 13-ship order by Mediterranean Shipping Company.

Asiatic Lloyd’s DSIC is order first in eight-years

German owner Asiatic Lloyd has ordered up to four ammonia-fuelled 7,100TEU ships from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC), the shipyard’s parent China State Shipbuilding Corporation announced on 2 May.

It is Asiatic Lloyd’s first container newbuilding order since 2013, when the Bunnemann-owned outfit ordered a pair of 9,034TEU ships from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries. The ship owner has a fleet of 26 second-hand container ships.
