New crisis for UK freight as France extends travel ban to HGVs and drivers

Supply chain operators are urging France to withdraw yesterday’s ban on accompanied freight from Britain, imposed after the UK identified a new strain of Covid-19 on Saturday.

WHO complains of ‘outrageous’ air freight rates – $105 per kg, anyone?

Medical-related products have seen air cargo prices soar, despite prices as shown by the TAC Index continuing to oscillate around the ‘new normal’ levels, with the highest rate this week from Shanghai to North America at $7.73 per kilo.

Australian shipping operations – ‘they’ve never been in a worse state’

E-commerce the star performer, driving growth for DP-DHL in Q3

DP-DHL enjoyed a strong third quarter on the back of surging e-commerce volumes, and looks set for a better full-year performance than in 2019.
Revenues in Q3 grew 4.4% year on year, to €16.2bn ($1.65bn), while ebit increased 50% to €1.4bn, and the group now anticipates ebit of €4.1bn to €4.4bn for 2020, against last year’s €4.1bn.

Strong air freight demand fighting tight capacity, pushing rates higher
